roar

I’ve never spent so long at a zoo in my life. It was awesome. We were there for like 4 hours- looking at animals the whole time. There are over 400 different species I guess! It was hella awesome. I took a lot of pictures- but I took them with my moms camera- and I don’t have the cord to transfer them onto the computer. Sad panda.

It was a great use of my day though. Matt and I are both kinda dorky in the way that we love random animal facts – and so the whole day was filled with random animal trivia. Ha. It was pretty fun. Probably my most fun day here thus far. The weather was wonderful as well.

After the zoo- we came back here. He wanted to grab his movies that he left here a few nights ago. So we sat down n’ had a beer. We were so exhausted – it felt amazing to sit down and just veg for a while.

I’m listening to a new band I just discovered like 15 mins ago. I like them. “State Radio”. Look it up. I dig it.

Its so nice outside. 65 right meow- the high for the day 73! I am gonna miss this weather! 73 is my favorite degree. Hahaha.

So anyhow- I don’t know exactly what I’m gonna do with my day. I need to go outside and enjoy this awesome weather. I should go exploring- but my feet are so flipping sore. I’ll think of something…

MONH

My feet are still sore from yesterday.

I walked down to “the mall” which isn’t a mall at all- its just a path that has lots of museums on it down by the Capitol. It was a lot of fun. I love the Museum of natural history. I could spend all day there.  Saw some really cool stuff. They have a special exhibit on orchids now – they smell a-m-a-zing. I haven’t made it to the botanical gardens yet- I went last year but I’d like to see everything again.

Turns out that the play last night wasn’t bad at all.  I might have liked it a little. Though I was confused at times. Me n’ Matt met his mom there. I think the ticket was like $58.00 :O! But maybe they got it cheaper? I hope so! Its kinda nice that Matt likes to spend quality time with his mum. Watching plays. Ha- I can’t even imagine me n’ my mom in that situation.

So it is supposed to be all warm today – tho it is incredibly overcast- I think it will be. It is warm out there now. So I decided I’m going to the zoo today. Should be a great day for it. I invited Matt along- he said he’d probably tag along…something about him and the hippo bein’ tight. Haha.

I’ll be missing 2nd Saturday ause of Shamrock Fest. Kinda bummed- but I definitely cannot pass up an opportunity to see Carbon Leaf. I am super excited.

Ok well I’m gonna go shower n’ have some coffee- get ready and head to the zoo! Woot!

WOOT!

where u goin?Biggest waste of 10 dollars ever?

The movie 2 Lovers.  So stupid. The whole plot was like this – this dude gets himself involved with 2 girls. One he calls his girlfriend. The other has some shit going on with a married dude – so right away they are just “friends” – till they eff on the roof. So he decides to leave the gf and run away with the other girl. He buys an engagement ring. The night that they are leaving town (all secretive like) – the girl tells him she isn’t going. She’s getting back with the married man cause he is finally leaving his wife for her. The dude flips out- contemplates suicide, then decides to go and propose to his gf- using the ring he bought for the other girl. (mind you – this last sentence took him a few mins on screen). The end.

*agony* why did I go?

Oh- cause I needed to get out. I met Kyle outside the apt and we walked to Union Station and took the metro downtown. We met this girl named Angela for the movie. She was quite cool. Kyle is weird. He kinda makes me feel…I don’t know. For lack of a better word – dumb. He’s too full of knowledge and it makes me feel like a lost middle-schooler. Thing is- I don’t really admire him for being so smart. Though I don’t feel he is trying to rub it in my face- but I also feel like when I don’t understand something he is talking about- he realizes it – and doesn’t feel the need to explain it to me. Ha. Anyways- enough about Kyle. Blah.

Today was lots more fun than yesterday.
I actually went somewhere besides going on walks with Kody around the block and walking to Union Station for postcards! Woohoo! I don’t know if it just took me a week to kinda feel “comfortable” – not that I am terribly comfortable now or anything- but I dunno. Maybe just to adjust to my surroundings.

I took on the Metro today. Muahaha. I kinda understand how it all works now. I had no clue before. I stared at the metro guide pamphlet for a long time. Ha. I didn’t know where I was gonna get off- so I chose at random. I kinda felt like shopping- and there was a stop called “Friendship Heights” (which sounded nice) haha – so I went with it.

Walked around a mall – got some food at a place called Booeymongers (on Wisconsin St. :) Went into a couple stores on the street – n’ then went back. Here’s what I bought today!

- A Twilight bookmark with Edward on it (hehe- yeah I’m a loser)
- Some “Tilt” perfume – clearance! $5.00!
- A sweet iPod case (clearance! $1.00 from $17!)
- A cool flowery keychain
- And the best find of the entire day – a DVD of a few episodes of the Amanda Show for ONE DOLLA! I was so excited. I am such a 10 year old dork. I love Amanda Bynes.

So it was a lot of fun!
Made me want to do more exploring! I kinda wanna find some places that have used CDs- I could browse CDs for a long time. I guess it just took me breaking out of my shell one time for me to want to get out and do it again.

I also decided that I’m going to have breakfast tomorrow morning across the St. at the bagels and baguettes place. I’m excited. =)

I might also go to some play with Matt tomorrow. Guess he has an extra ticket. I guess it is called Delicate Balance by Albee? I should google it. If it sounds dumb- I will just spend my day exploring. It REALLY helps that the weather is getting nicer! Tomorrow is supposed to be 48- and Friday is supposed to be 62! Woohoo! 70s on Sat. and Sun. *yesssssss*

Oh- I also found this today:
http://www.shamrockfest.com/2009/
CARBON LEAF IS GONNA BE THERE! I wanna go! I don’t think anyone wants to go with me. Should I go alone?

I think that is pretty much it for todays post.

wintery-mixSo something cool -

Kodiak has been letting me sleep in till 8:30 instead of 8. He’s such a gentleman. I think it is also cause I take him out pretty late.

Actually, last night wasn’t the craziest late night ever. Matt came over at like 9 or so? We had some fermented grains and watched a movie that he claimed was “real good”. Twas called “About Last Night” – starring Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, and Jim Belushi. I hope I spelled that right. So yeah- it was awful. Terrible 80s music and outfits – about this couple (Rob & Demi) who meet, move in together, break up, and move out. Struck a familiar chord. They were 24 in the movie. So weird. They seemed really young. Anyhow- it was terrible. The only good thing that came out of me losing 2 hours of my life to it was the sex dream I had about Rob Lowe last night. Hahahaha.

I had 7 beers last night. Whew.

I am not used to getting up this early. At first I hated it. I would go right back to bed after I took Kodiak out. Now I make myself get in the shower and make some coffee. I guess its gonna be a lot harder to get up this early when I have work to get to. This new job that I have- hrs. are 8-5. Hope I can get used to it.  I’ll have to I suppose.

So today, March 3rd…I have 2 goals. I need to finish writing out my postcards- and go to Union Station and get stamps/mail them out. I also need to mail out some checks to Brandee & Ashley. I know. Go big or go home.

13 more days of my surreal life here. Kyle asked me if I wanna go to a movie tonight. I probably will. I think its called “2 Lovers”? Gweneth Paltrow and Joanquin Phoenix?

88 more days ’till the Dominican trip :)

I have been terribly lazy the last couple of days. I mean, I’m in flippin’ Washington D.C. – I should be sight-seeing. Though I have been here before…a big part of it is this stupid weather. Its 18 degrees outside, but it “feels like” 2. High of 40 tomorrow though! Woohoo! the next 10 days look pretty good on weather.com. Maybe I’ll get out of here then. I “worked” one day so far at the bookstore. I thought I’d wanna work there a lot. It is pretty boring though. The owner is paying me cash- which is cool – but its a damn long walk in this cold weather.

Well, I’m gonna sip my coffee and maybe watch some Heroes before Kodiak wants to go out again.

peace out homies

oh- ps- I have a theory. Pretty sure that the level of snowfall is directly correlated to the number of times I hear honking horns outside. As the snowfall increases, the honking decreases dramatically. I should collect some data…

Forboding…

So,

we have a very important staff meeting this morning (8:30)…I am thinking that the Altoona Star is going to be no more very quickly.

I wonder what the general rule is when it comes to severance pay?

Well, I did it once again.

It has been a little over 2 mo since I wrote last. *sigh* Its just that a bunch of stuff happens- and then I mean to update- but it seems like such a chore when I am finally done with my day- so I put it off. So what made me finally do it tonight? I don’t know. Prolly cause Scott isn’t home to distract me, and I have a butt load of energy cause I just played vball about 45 mins ago. Plus I don’t feel like watching TV. Whenever Scott isn’t home for a few days- I hardly watch any TV. I kinda like that though. I’m def more of a music listener than a TV watcher. Ok- so I need to do some highlights.

Since I wrote last I: (in no particular order)

- Started my new job ( I got my first bonus today too :) 300 buck-oos.
- Was re-united with my best friend from 1st grade-3rd grade Ashley Beine
- Went bow hunting for the first time (and missed a doe!)
- Went to a townie bar in Altoona and made a bunch of friends
- Went to Point for Homecoming and made some new friends
- Went to a haunted house with Ashley! And screamed – A LOT.
- Went to Fall Fest and hung out with Dan & Claire
- Started horseback riding lessons :) luvluvluv
- Realized I should have went to school for sales & marketing
- Got an IUD (owwwwwwwww)
- Got a crown (owwwwwwwwwww) and $$$$
- Started taking martial arts (and stopped after 3 lessons) hahaha
- Ate a whole pan of orange jello by myself – ok so I just did that…I am running out of bullet points here…
- Joined 2 volleyball teams at Loopy’s (the first night was tonight) with people I had never met b4 tonight

Ok – I guess that is all I can think of for now. I am positive there is a lot more that I am forgetting, but that’s what happens when you wait two months inbetween posts. Ah well.

The sleepiness is starting to kick in a bit. I have some sleepytime tea almost cool enough to drink. Mmm. Scott is in Winona right now. He has been gone a couple days- but he’ll be back tomorrow. I miss him a little, but it is still nice to have this little place all to myself. I play loud music in the mornings when he’s gone. :)

Tomorrow I play vball on a completely different team as I did tonight. I am hoping to have some younger players on this team. The one I played on tonight was mostly older players…and none of them were very good. I get too competitive. I’ll stick with it though. it is good exercise- esp since the winter is coming up! It snowed for the first time the other day. Oct. 26th. Nothing accumulated, but it still made me cringe a little. I don’t mind winter as much as I used to, but I sure hate it when it won’t go away after 4 straight months. I think 4 months is way enough. I could get by with 2mo. That would be quite perfect actually.

I can’t wait till this weekend. Its Halloween- which means I will be going to Marshfield to hang out with Dan & Claire. I’m excited. I loves them. I think I will be Hannah Montana again. Either that, or I’ll go as a middle-schooler, and wear Hannah Montana stuff or High School Musical crap. I don’t know- I am getting lazy in my old age. Ha.

Hm…anything else coming up?
I need to get out and go hunting again. I wanna shoot my first deer.

I love my job, but my eyes are on a different (but similar) horizon. I know I should be in sales now. It comes naturally, and I like it. Now, I just need to find out how to make more money doing it. I am looking into pharmaceutical sales a bit. I’ll put my time in at the Star and see what pans out. I’m not really in a hurry.

Well, I am gonna drink my tea and go to bed. Its quarter after 11 already! Haha

G’night all

True Love

I haven’t seen something this touching in….ok- maybe forever.

I just saw this for the first time today.  I’ve watched it like 6 times now- and I can’t get through it once without turning into a blubbering fool.

There should be more people in the world like this.

Hold on tight…

You know she’s a little bit dayyygerous!

I love that song.  I am such a geek.  ROX-ETTE!

Anyways.
yesterday was an awesome day.  So awesome in fact – that I requested a trampoline!  Ha!  I went to Family Planning in EauClaire (got waaaay lost along the way) to go get me an annual check up for my “lady business” (as my mom called it) HAH!  So I finally got the hook up on some birth control again- and I also found out that I can get an IUD for FREE!  So I am going to make an appointment very soon for that.  Lisa says it hurts.  I ain’t skurrd’.  That would take away so much worry for me.  Anyhows…

While I was filling out some paperwork, I got a phone call from the temp agency – aaaand…wait for it……I got the job! :) YAY!  I know- I didn’t update at all after the interview like I was going to but – it seems like such an awesome job- and I can’t wait to get started.  It is going to be a lot of work getting used to the whole swing of things.  There is a TON to learn and a LOT involved.  I will have to update on it again when I know more about it.  I guess I am going to put in some part time hours this month before I start full time in Sept.  Don’t know official start date yet!  I am pumped.  PUMPED.

So – new job – YAY!
What else is exciting?
Oh- totally random.  I found a guy that I used to go to elementary school with on Facebook.  Peter Collis.  He still lives in Eau Claire.  I haven’t seen him for 17yrs.  We talked on the phone last night.  So weird/cool!  We are going to get together for a few drinks some night.  It would be so neat-o to have a friend or two in the area.  He seems nice…and he remembered me.  He put 7 yrs in for the marines though…*sigh*.  Marines.   They are all the same.  Haha.  At this point- I don’t care.  I’m excited to meet up with him.  He told me that last he heard- Caleb Wheeler (my first EVER boyfriend like in 1st and 2nd grade (yeah)) was going to school to be a pharmacist.  Weird.  So far- I have found 6 people through Facebook that I used to go to elem. school with.  I heart Facebook.

I cannot WAIT for this next weekend to come.  I am SO excited to go and see Brandee.  I am also attending a theme party in Point.  The theme is Hollywood…and I have decided to be Hannah Montana.  Muahaha.  I hate Hannah Montana.  But the outfit was so easy because of Walmart.  =)  It is going to be a weekend away from Chippewa Falls- hanging with old friends- and just relaxing.  I am looking forward to it SO much.

Well, I guess that is all.
Back to pretending to work!
